During a Boston winter in 2008, I had been walking to work every morning with my nose in the works of Hemingway and Fitzgerald. There was a distinct charm to the idea of having some friends over my place to share in bourbon and intelligent conversation. Thus was born Gentleman's Whiskey & Chat. As I mentioned this idea to others, it seemed that there was an explicit interest in one, the other, and usually both. What started as a small get-together became an event that was housed at Grand, a fantastic retail space in the Boston area, appointed with food from Diesel Cafe, anointed with ample whiskey courtesy of Bushmills, and entertainment was provided by local musicians, The Simon Brothers and Haruki Naginata. This event was featured on Yelp and the guestbook had reached maximum capacity (150) when RSVPs were still rolling in at a healthy rate. It was a wonderful evening.
