From the early days of my love affair with bicycles, I've wanted to build my own... Pygmalion's statue sort of thing. The act of building a bicycle frame was on the list of my life aspirations, such as buying a house, getting married, and the like. It finally dawned on me that building a bicycle frame is challenging, but it can be done on a definite schedule and entirely on my own terms (take that, Matrimony.)
This frame and resultant bicycle were built in 2009 between November 16th and December 4th (where the frame sat in a powdercoating shop during Thanksgiving week.) It started with Dedacciai 4130 Cro-Mo tubes and investment cast lugs and with the guidance of a professional framebuilder, I designed the geometry and did all the labor to bring this bicycle to life. The lugs are joined primarily with silver brazing (while joints that required a lot of heating were done with brass.)
